Brand spotlight: Fausel, Biskamp

This story begins in 1887, in the German city of Düsseldorf. Carl Fausel and Friedrich Biskamp founded Fausel,Biskamp, (see what they did there?), a retail and wholesaler that took Germany by storm. Their business, which focused on specialized high-class, exclusive and stylish wallpapers,  expanded quickly. And, by the end of the 19th century, they’d become a regional household name.

But, as you can imagine, it wasn’t all smooth sailing from there…

The first half of the 20th century brought tough times for Fausel,Biskamp, and sadly the founders were killed during the wars. But, the brand didn’t pass with them.

Hans Neise picked up the mantle and carried the brand forward. 

In the 1950s, Niese, along with his son, expanded the business internationally – positioning Fausel,Biskamp as specialists in exclusive wallpapers, globally. This was when the brand we recognise today was developed. 

A fresh take on their initial focus, Fausal,Biskamp became the go-to brand for haute-couture for the wall. With their fresh takes on natural materials and intriguing wallpaper designs, the brand has only expanded, and today, it continues to thrive within the Niese family.
