We’re delighted to announce that NewWall are participating in Canada’s leading (and largest) annual design festival, DesignTO 2020, that takes place as part of the Interior Design Show Toronto. IDS celebrates the best in design from both international and emerging designers.  Featuring many events between January 17-26, 2020, over the long weekend, Toronto hosts the world’s most innovative and intriguing installations.

Attendees can expect to witness everything from forward thinking masterpieces to eco-friendly furniture. 2020 will see over 53,000 companies collaborate to share inspiring design ideas, showcase upcoming talent and feature talks from key experts in the industry.

The DesignTO festival features over 100 exhibitions and events that come together to form Toronto’s design week, all of which will shape the industry for the year to come.

We are joining ‘the leading designers, thinkers, makers, changers, shapers and dreamers like you who are coming together to change the world for the better’ and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

Justin Bailey Partners with NewWall to

exhibit – ‘Murmur Mirrors’ for DesignTO 2020

This year, we invite you to discover the exceptional work of  Justin Bailey. Justin will be using the NewWall showroom to display his work throughout the duration of the DesignTO event. With a background in both sculpture and design, Justin embraces both worlds to create design that takes an experimental approach to form and structure within functional objects.

Justin Bailey’s designs emphasize movement through articulation and flow pulling from influences in craft and technology. Building with lines and surfaces, Justin creates forms that appear lightweight, minimal, and gestural to emphasize simple functional attributes of objects.

For the DesignTO exhibition, ‘Murmur Mirrors’, Justin Bailey has partnered with us at NewWall to present a series of mirrors to create a collaboration between designer and host that reciprocates the relationship between object and space.  As a series of objects, the mirrors explore subtle variations of form through shifting line, surface and rotation. Brushed aluminum knobs and backings support the mirrors and heighten the spectrum of reflection seen in the mirror. The ‘Murmur Mirrors’ will be placed in our showroom to expand, reflect and highlight our wallpaper displays.
