It’s showtime! Ever since we learned about the return of Beetlejuice at the Venice Film Festival, we’ve been buzzing with thoughts of Tim Burton’s brilliance. His ability to create incredibly unique worlds that are unmistakably Burton is legendary—and Beetlejuice is no exception. It got us at NewWall thinking, what inspirations can we draw from this cult classic for interior styling? Here were our four favorites…

1. Gothic, yet glamorous

Channel your inner Lydia Deetz by mixing gothic sophistication with modern flair.

Think deep, dark and dramatic, with themes that blend historic European influences with striking modern touches. Whether that’s through texture…

Or ornamentation…

2. Surreal shapes

One of the most iconic visuals from Beetlejuice is the use of bold, unexpected patterns.

From black-and-white stripes to checkerboards and zigzags, these surreal designs add a playful, chaotic vibe to any room.

Think large patterned rugs, graphic wallpaper, and quirky accent pieces that break traditional design rules.

Don’t be afraid to clash patterns and textures for that otherworldly, dream-like effect.

3. Expect the unexpected

Embrace the quirky, unpredictable spirit of the afterlife with fun and experimental elements!

Bold shapes, asymmetrical designs, and oversized features will help create a space that feels like it’s straight out of the Beetlejuice world.

Mix vintage pieces with modern, colorful options to keep the look fresh.

A key feature of these spaces is furniture that feels alive. Think chairs with exaggerated forms or tables with playful, sculptural bases.

4. Eerie undertones

Burton is incredible at balancing the fun with the freaky. It's an eerie undertone that’s almost addictive to fans!

To recreate this in your own space, welcome bright greens, neon purples, and blood reds, but pair with older pieces and darker creeping elements to unlock that eerie, yet addictive thrill!
