This month’s arrivals invite a more decorative approach to interiors. Leading the way are two new collections from Coordonné, each warmly inviting pattern through wallcoverings and fabrics. This, alongside childhood charms, natural texture, and painterly florals, rounds out an edit full of character. Join us as we take a closer look.
Damascus by Coordonné
Rich, ornamental, and dramatic, Damascus traces the journey of damask itself — brocades that once travelled the Silk Road, shaped along the way by China, Persia, Byzantium, and Syria before captivating the aristocracy of Europe. The collection wears that history in its very names.
Damascus offers an array of designs with Eastern origins, all deep jewel color and intricacy.
Moving along the road, into the Byzantine (the bridge between Europe and Asia) introduces a softer side to the collection.
By the time the motif reaches Europe, it turns bold and confident with warm, glowing statements.
The coordinating Damascus fabrics let that story travel off the wall — Venetian Damask Cotton Ruby, named for the great trading port, brings the brocade into curtains, cushions, and upholstery.
Sevilla by Coordonné
Where Damascus travels, Sevilla stays home. Designed by Coqui Ybarra, born and raised in the city, it’s a personal homage to Andalusia. The tiled courtyards, orange trees, and Moorish filigree of Al-Ándalus.
Its architectural designs bring a real sense of place echoes the carved latticework of the Real Alcázar.
While softer botanicals balance the stone…
The Sevilla fabrics carry that warmth into soft furnishings; bringing the orange groves indoors, as upholstery, covers, hangings or curtains.
