Brand Spotlight: Hohenberger

By Connie SishtonFeb 01, 2026

February brings an exciting new arrival to NewWall, as we welcome Hohenberger to our collection. Famed for their refined approach to wallcovering, Hohenberger is known within the industry for its focus on surface, texture, and considered material choices. Join us as we take a closer look at the studio story behind the designs, and explore the collections we’re proud to now have available at NewWall.

Introducing Hohenberger

Founded in Germany and family-run to this day, Hohenberger has been producing wallcoverings in-house since 1932.

Every design is developed and manufactured at their own production facility, allowing close attention to quality, material selection, and process at every stage.

Hohenberger has a fierce passion for responsible manufacturing. Their wallpapers are PVC-free and produced using energy-efficient methods, with a focus on creating healthier interior environments. From raw material sourcing through to production, sustainability is treated as an integral part of the brand’s identity.

Alongside traditional printing and textural techniques, Hohenberger is known for incorporating refined surface details, including subtle glass and pearl bead accents, that add depth and interaction with light across several collections.

This balance of craftsmanship, technical expertise, and environmental responsibility underpins each collection, resulting in wallcoverings that are thoughtfully made, visually refined, and designed to last. Let’s take a look…

Cerra Collection

Inspired by the layered vastness of desert landscapes, Cerra explores the relationship between scale and detail. Soft, sand-toned palettes sit alongside mineral textures, echoing both the openness of dunes and the quiet presence of hidden oases.

From afar, the designs capture the epic expanse of their inspiration, drawing you into the space they envelope…

At a closer look, delicate details emerge. Using pattern, and material to create incredible depth. These subtle textural variations give the designs a refined appearance from a distance, while revealing a distinctive tactile quality up close.

The result is a series of wallcoverings that feel calm and grounded, yet visually rich,  defined as much by how they feel as by how they look.

Raku Collection

Rooted in the traditional Japanese Raku ceramic technique, the Raku collection reflects a process shaped by earth, fire, and natural forces.

Raku introduces warmth and depth to interiors, creating spaces that feel considered, organic, and undeniably expressive.

Tesoro Collection

Tesoro is a collection rooted in richness of surface and material. Inspired by natural forms such as stone, mineral layers, and woven textures…

These elements add dimension without overwhelming, allowing the wallpapers to shift in character throughout the day while remaining all too easy to live with.

Yuuma Collection

Yuuma takes its color inspiration from the mineral pigments and natural dyes traditionally used in Japan.

As well as further explorations into glass beading…

Yuuma is a collection designed to bring balance to a space, combining color, considered pattern, and tactile detail to create interiors that feel composed and at ease.

Dedication to sustainability

Hohenberg is proudly dedicated to sustainability in its practices. Designs are PVC-free and created using energy-efficient production methods, supporting healthier interior environments without compromizing on finish or performance. Across the range, Hohenberger works with a variety of tactile techniques - from raised textures and textile-inspired surfaces to refined glass bead detailing - using material thoughtfully.

This balance of craft, innovation, and responsibility ensures each design feels considered and enduring, made to be lived with over time.
